Okanagan Falls is located at the south end of beautiful Skaha Lake and is named after the falls at the southern end of Skaha Lake which emptied into the Okanagan River. Okanagan Falls marks the beginning of the northern extension of the Columbia Basin and forms the only temperate desert area in Canada.
Okanagan Falls is a tiny, but active community of about 10,000 people and is a draw to many tourists seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, enjoying quieter but still beautiful beaches and of course, a short walk to the famous Tickleberrys Ice Cream Shop, Wurleys chocolates and gift shop. Award winning wineries like Stags Hollow and Hawhorne Mountain Vineyards call Okanagan Falls home, and are most certainly worth a visit and a tasting.
With its famous big weekend flea market, various quaint antique shops, and handmade furniture, The Falls, as its called by locals, can be a fun spot to spend a vacation, or a location to set down new roots and enjoy the spectacular natural beauty and warmer climate all year round.
